Tamil version of Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan gets an overwhelming response
The film opened in a record over 300 screens across Tamil Nadu and has been running house full at few centers. The released simultaneously in 2D and 3D in Tamil Nadu. Interestingly, the original version of Pulimurugan had released in 220 theatres in Kerala, and now the Tamil version opening in over 300 screens sets a new record for the film.
Pulimurugan was the first cinema in Malayalam which grossed the INR 100 crore collections at the box office. The film also ran for a record 150 days in theatres and has already earned INR 150 crores in Kerala alone. It is awaited to see what kind of collections the Tamil dubbed version of Pulimurugan will make in Tamil Nadu.
Pulimurugan featured Mohanlal in the role of a hunter named Murugan. The film also features Jagapati Babu, Kamalini Mukherjee, Namitha, Vinu Mohan and Lal. Directed by Vysakh, the film had some visual effects as well which also contributed to the film’s success. Pulimurugan is produced by Tomichan Mulakkupadam who has been close associate of Mohanlal for a long time now.
